If you didn't know, I work in a coffee shop and I'm the kitchen manager. Yesterday thru tomorrow I'm day manager because the girl who usually does it is out of town on vacation. We are WAY busy this time of year too. Anyway, I'm scheduled from 5am - 2pm... My 7am girl didn't show up and we got SLAMMED beyond belief. So, here I am busting my ass off, and I'm so exhausted and strung out because I'm by myself, and there are like 20 people in line. So, Mindy (the owner) calls during the time when I was busy and said she needed some gift certificates made out so she could take them to her daughter's school. I told her that we were running WAY low because Courtney (my 7am girl) wasn't there (she called and was on her way by now) and she was supposed to be picking them up on her way to work. So she calls Courtney and tells her to make sure she gets them before she comes in. Then Mindy starts callin people in to work and we ended up having one too many people. So, Mindy told me to send someone home. So, I ask this girl Casey who just got there if she wants to go ahead and go home or if she wants to stay. I tell her if she stays she's gotta work the kitchen because she'd be replacing Dolly (the girl who'd leave if Casey didn't). So, Casey decides she wants to stay, and I send Dolly home. Lunch comes around and guess what, Casey throws a big bitch fest about working in the kitchen so I have to go work back there (which wasn't what I was scheduled for today. I was so royally pissed because Casey told me she'd work the kitchen if she stayed... And THEN Misty (my sister) works there and she told me she heard Casey complaining about me saying "Crystal's up there doing nothing and I'm back here making sandwiches which isn't even what I'm scheduled for today." Damn... That pissed me off even more because she's right, she wasn't scheduled for it, BUT DAMNIT SHE SAID SHE'D DO IT IF SHE STAYED. I had to go into the back and cool down or I was gonna beat her up. I was there from 5am to 1pm until I could even take a break. Everytime I'd try to sit down Mindy would tell me to get back up and do this or do that... Hell if I really wanted to I could get her ass in trouble... it's against the law to work me that long without a break.

GRRR! I SWEAR IF TOMORROW IS LIKE TODAY WAS I'M GOING TO EXPLODE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday my 7 o'clock girl didn't show up either. Yay. I love the people I work with.

Well, I gotta go.

Adieu.

Friday, December 09, 2005

Well... After a long night's sleep (about 10 hours) I feel better. I still have a sore throat, and my head hurts a little, but I don't have a fever anymore and I'm not weak either.

I spent the day laying around and reading. There's really nothing on TV these days. I watched Ellen at 9. After that, I read a whole book, which was awesome by the way. Now I'm going to go lay down and either a) take a nap or b) read a different book by my friend Joe... We'll see which happens...

Friday, December 09, 2005

I HATE BEING SICK! I swear, people at my work are complete asses. This past week this girl was absent for 2 days. If it hadn't been for me, no one would have replaced her. And now, I'm sick. I'm talking, sore throat, runny nose, headache, fever, weakness, etc... AND NO ONE WOULD WORK FOR ME! The only person left was this girl that I absolutely did not want to call. She has worked every day since last Saturday. I wouldn't have wanted someone calling me ater I had worked that long. But she was my last resort. I finally called her and she agreed. Thankfully. I have to work for her on Saturday now, and I wasn't scheduled, but no matter. I get an extra 3 hours this week. That's cool. Well, I'm gonna go lay down. Make sure I feel better before Saturday.

Thursday, December 08, 2005

1. You could definitely tell that she loved Christmas, and her family. I really miss her for the whole month of December. I think about Christmas approaching and how much she enjoyed that holiday and it makes me sad sometimes. However, I got her little winter town! Whenever Lucky, my kitten, gets older, I'll probably start putting it up. Either that or saving it so it doesn't get ruined.

When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? I think I was about nine, ten, or eleven... I don't remember. All I remember is going out into the garage after Christmas and looking for one of my toys and I found where my parents had hidden the boxes for the dolls and stuff I received. I asked my parents about it and they said that Santa must have put the boxes there, but I didn't believe them

It's been over four months since I've written in here. I did
a good job for a while, eh? Well, let's see. This is gonna be quick
cause my sister wants to write in her new xanga blog.

I quit working at Gill's. It was WAY too much work to try to work two
jobs. I got promoted to kitchen manager at Common Grounds after only
four months. That's totally awesome. I got a 50¢ raise. Not much, but
hey.

I moved in with my boyfriend. We have been together for one year and ten months today. How awesome is that?!?

I have been spending all of my money on Christmas presents lately. I
got my nephews Issac and Bryson completely done. I got their mom
halfway done. I only got two things for my sister, but I think I'm
gonna get her something else cause she was with me when I got it. I got
my dad done. I won him a 34-Walter Payton stitched jersey on ebay. I
hope it's awesome because I spent $70 on it. I have no clue what I'm
buying my boyfriend, or my mom for that matter. Matt's parents are
gonna be rough to buy for too. So are his brother, sister-in-law and
nephews.

I've been sick off and on for weeks now. It totally sucks. Yesterday I
told Casi, a girl I work with, that I thought I was all better. Come to
find out, I woke up this morning with a sore throat. SUCKS!

I've been updating the Common Grounds website. You wanna see what it looks like? Click on this link: http://www.mattooncommongrounds.com

Well, I'm done. I'll try to be better at writing in here.

Adieu, Crys
I'm tired of working all the fricken time.

This message is going to be short because I'm not really in the mood to write, but I figured I should.

My dog died on Saturday. I'm so sad. It's rough and weird. I keep
thinking I'm going to see him walk across the front room and hack like
he always did. He was fifteen years old. Almost sixteen. Which is
awesome for a Shih Tzu. He had been sick for almost exactly two years
though. I guess he's not suffering anymore.

On top of that in less than a month it'll be the one year anniversary
of one of my best friend's deaths. I still miss him. I was talking to
one of my friends and one of his ex girlfriends and it's going to be so
rough. We decided that together.

Also, one of my long lost friends just found out that her step brother
has testicular cancer. So, keep him in your thoughts please.
So let's see... I
went to work on Thursday and this girl I went to school with named
Heather didn't show up to work, so Lacy had to call in this girl named
Michele. Michele had never waitressed before, but had been a dishwasher
for a while. So, Lacy gave both of us a side and then she helped us as
needed. Normally when you are still training (which I was on Thursday)
you don't get to keep any of your tips because you're getting minimum
wage and the waitress who is training you would normally be getting
those tips, so they go to your trainer. Well, Lacy said that I did such
a good job that I got to keep almost all of my tips. So that wasn't
bad.

Friday, I got up and had to take Lucky (Matt and my kitty) to the vet
to get spayed. She was all in heat so when 9:55 came around (her
appointment was at 10 am) I picked her up and put her in the passenger
seat of my car. I started my car and started driving and then she
started crying. The vet's office is only like two blocks away. So she
climbed up on my lap as I was turning onto the busy street in front of
Matt's house. She climbed under the wheel between my legs and I
couldn't straighten out the wheel. I thought I was going to wreck. But
I finally got her dropped off and then I felt like the world's meanest
pet owner. So, I went back to Matt's house and work called and asked me
to come in from 11 to 2. I thought that would be okay, so I got ready
for work and headed there. I got to "train" with Heidi (the general
manager) on a busy lunch. She said I did excellent and that I was a
table hog. HEHE So, I came BACK to Matt's after work and got ready to
go to my interview at Common Grounds. I got there about 10 minutes
early and the guy who interviewed me was pretty cute (not that I was
going to do anything about it because I have Matt :D) so he made me
nervous. The first half I don't think I made a whole lot of sense, but
after that, I loosened up and I think it turned out well. After I got
back from my interview, Matt took me to Angelo's to eat. It was yummy.
I love Angelo's. So, that was Friday.

On Saturday, Misty and I headed into town at 9:30 because I had
to pick up Lucky and Misty had to be at work at 11. So, we picked up
Lucky and she seemed glad to see me. When I got her home, I put her on
Matt's bed to rest. She decided then that she was upset with me and
carefully jumped off of the bed and then crawled under it as far back
into the corner as she could get. I went and dropped Misty off at work
and came back to Matt's. I called my mom, who was helping my cousin get
ready for her wedding that day, and Danielle picked up. I asked her if
she needed any help with anything to get ready for her wedding, and she
said not at the moment, but I could come early anyways. So, I hopped
into the shower and blowdried my hair and put on my makeup. I didn't
put on my dress clothes yet because I didn't want them to get dirty.
About the time I was done, my mom called saying everybody was thirsty
and asked me to bring drinks. By the time I got there, they said that
everyone was hungry and asked me to go get some food. So, I did. The
wedding was beautiful. The reception was fun except for the fact that I
missed Matt. All the people there my age had their partners with them,
and I was there by myself.

I didn't get home until about 12:30 or 1 am on Sunday. I turned on the
TV and watched a little and the next thing I knew my phone was ringing.
It was like 9 am and I ignored it. It was Gill's wanting me to come in.
I hung out with my parents for a while and then I took a shower and
then laid down and took a nap. At about 3:30 headed into town to see my
boyfriend.

On Monday, I got up and Misty wanted to go to the pool. I had her call
Mom to see if it was okay. Mom said it was.So, Misty decided she wanted
to go out to eat before I took her to the pool. We went to Gill's and
ate breakfast. About halfway thru our meal, Jen called. I asked her if
she wanted to join us, and she did. So she came. We sat around until 1
and then I took Misty to Michael's to pick him up. I took them to the
pool and then came to Matt's and hung out with him until I had to go to
work at 4. Work was alright. I got slammed, but I made about $25 at
night, which is good because usually you don't make much in tips at
night. I went home and went to bed.

Yesterday Misty, Jen and I went to the movies to see Charlie and The
Chocolate Factory. GOOD MOVIE! It's funny. One of my friends
called me and she pissed me off. She's only 18 and she's practically
engaged to this very nice boy that is in Texas in the Air Force right
now. She called and told me that she's been sleeping with this guy who
I don't like. He's like 22 or 23 (I think) and he's married right now.
He doesn't have enough money to get divorced, and he proposed to this
friend of mine. She said that if he was divorced she'd accept. I asked
her if she told her boyfriend in Texas about anything and she said no.
He thinks everything is the same way that they left it. THAT IS SO
WRONG AND PISSES ME OFF SO BAD!!! Anyway, so Jen, Misty and I went to
Jen's friend Snappy's house. We picked her up and we all went to
Fazoli's to eat. After we ate, I took Misty by my mom's work and then
Jen and I ran Snap to work. We talked to Jen's friend Dayna while we
were there. And then we went to Matt's for a while. At 7 we headed to
Jen's friend Matt's house so that I could meet him. He was nice. At 8 I
headed home and went to sleep.

Today, I got up and went to Uncle Danny's to try to fix his PC. No such
luck. It's just his Yahoo messy and I don't know what to do about it.
Then I ran to Battery Specialists to see if my battery was dying. My
car was having a hard time starting up. Sure enough, it was my battery.
So, I called my dad and he told me to have them change my battery. It
cost about $55. Then I came to Matt's, and here I sit...

I'm going to go now. I'm getting tired of typing. Later.

Wednesday, July 13, 2005

So, today has been odd. I started a new job yesterday. I'm waitressing
at Gill's. I like it alright. We weren't that busy. Lacy, the manager,
was in charge of training me. She's awesome. In February, she married
this guy named Shannon. Shannon has worked on and off at Gill's for
like 16 years or something. My mom knows him really well. I like
waitressing all right. It hurt my feet, legs, and back though, but I'll
live!

So, I got up this morning and Common Grounds called me asking for an
interview. WHAT THE HELL!?! I've been looking for a job for like a
month or so. I finally get one that I really didn't want to do to begin
with, and the people I want to work for call. I'm going for an
interview on Friday. I'm going to see what they'll offer me.

Donna (the owner of Gill's and my mom's friend) called me earlier and
asked me if I wanted to come in and wait tables. I was like, "All by
myself?" I'm catching on, but I don't think I'd be comfortable waiting
tables without Lacy standing there yet. SCARY! I didn't go.

Instead, I went shopping for an outfit to wear to my cousin Danielle's
wedding this Saturday. I got a cute pair of white pants and this white,
pink, gray, and black tanktop. It's cute. I'll post a picture as soon
as I get one.

Well, that's about it. I'll write later. Leave me one. ADIEU!
For the most part.

I currently am unemployed and it's basically impossible for me to get a job for some reason. I have put in approximately twenty applications in the past two weeks and so far, notta. Well, I take that back. Some insurance company in Effingham called and wanted me to sell insurance policies. No thanks. I wouldn't be able to do that. Mom told me not to go in for an interview because she's gone before and it's a crappy job. I put in an application at Common Grounds today. That'd be fun. I love flavored coffees, etc. YUM!

Matt and I are doing much better. I lectured him about everything and he's been a good boy lately. He even came to a party at my house on Sunday. It was a 4th of July/Barry and Sally party. Barry is my mom's cousin from Thompkinsville, Kentucky. Sally is his wife. Barry, Sally, and their three boys (Matt, Josh, and Tyler) came to visit. They came on Saturday and left yesterday afternoon. It was fun. Tyler cracks me up. He's four and has this strong Kentucky accent. He is so cute.

I stayed with my cousin Kelly in Sadorus (just south of Champaign) on Sunday night. We went to Tuscola's fireworks. They were awesome. Although, one set (they had two different shoot-off areas) started the golf course on fire. It was bad. Donnie (my cousin Iris' husband) informed me that Tuscola doesn't even have a fire department. They have a volunteer department, so they were rushing to find volunteers to help put out the fire. After the fireworks, we all (Kel, Savannah (Kel's daughter), Blake (Iris' son), Misty (my sister), and me) went back to Kel's. We watched a movie and went to bed around 12:30. Kel's cell phone rang a little after 7 and woke us up. Then we watched another movie, showered, and headed to Champaign to watch the 4th of July parade. It was rather long. Matt came up for it though so that make it interesting. He drove his motorcycle. Anyways, the parade ended and then it started to storm. We were going to go to Kel's mom's house to swim, but it was lightning and all that.so we decided not to. The rain stopped for a little bit and Matt decided he was going to drive home before it got worse. I followed him in my car, and for about a three mile skit, Matt had to ride his bike in the rain. I felt so sorry for him.

So, that was my weekend. I didn't do a whole lot else. I spent about half an hour to an hour looking at pictures from my best friend from fifth grade's trip to Europe. It was kinda odd because not two days before, I had finished reading The Da Vinci Code. Quite a few of the pictures were of things I read about in the book, so that was neat.

Well, I think this is long enough, and I'm tired of writing, so I'm going to go.
