So today was a total day from hell. If you didn't know, I work in a coffee shop and I'm the kitchen manager. Yesterday thru tomorrow I'm day manager because the girl who usually does it is out of town on vacation. We are WAY busy this time of year too. Anyway, I'm scheduled from 5am - 2pm... My 7am girl didn't show up and we got SLAMMED beyond belief. So, here I am busting my ass off, and I'm so exhausted and strung out because I'm by myself, and there are like 20 people in line. So, Mindy (the owner) calls during the time when I was busy and said she needed some gift certificates made out so she could take them to her daughter's school. I told her that we were running WAY low because Courtney (my 7am girl) wasn't there (she called and was on her way by now) and she was supposed to be picking them up on her way to work. So she calls Courtney and tells her to make sure she gets them before she comes in. Then Mindy starts callin people in to work and we ended up having one too many people. So, Mindy told me to send someone home. So, I ask this girl Casey who just got there if she wants to go ahead and go home or if she wants to stay. I tell her if she stays she's gotta work the kitchen because she'd be replacing Dolly (the girl who'd leave if Casey didn't). So, Casey decides she wants to stay, and I send Dolly home. Lunch comes around and guess what, Casey throws a big bitch fest about working in the kitchen so I have to go work back there (which wasn't what I was scheduled for today. I was so royally pissed because Casey told me she'd work the kitchen if she stayed... And THEN Misty (my sister) works there and she told me she heard Casey complaining about me saying "Crystal's up there doing nothing and I'm back here making sandwiches which isn't even what I'm scheduled for today." Damn... That pissed me off even more because she's right, she wasn't scheduled for it, BUT DAMNIT SHE SAID SHE'D DO IT IF SHE STAYED. I had to go into the back and cool down or I was gonna beat her up. I was there from 5am to 1pm until I could even take a break. Everytime I'd try to sit down Mindy would tell me to get back up and do this or do that... Hell if I really wanted to I could get her ass in trouble... it's against the law to work me that long without a break.

GRRR! I SWEAR IF TOMORROW IS LIKE TODAY WAS I'M GOING TO EXPLODE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday my 7 o'clock girl didn't show up either. Yay. I love the people I work with.

Well... After a long night's sleep (about 10 hours) I feel better. I still have a sore throat, and my head hurts a little, but I don't have a fever anymore and I'm not weak either.

I spent the day laying around and reading. There's really nothing on TV these days. I watched Ellen at 9. After that, I read a whole book, which was awesome by the way. Now I'm going to go lay down and either a) take a nap or b) read a different book by my friend Joe... We'll see which happens...

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? definitely hot chocolate... especially the homemade kind... YUM!

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? well at Mom's house, Santa just sits them under the tree

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white?  my Christmas tree has colored lights and we aren't going to decorate outside because the people who live in the hotel behind us might try to steal our decorations... 

4. Do you hang mistletoe? nope I don't

5. When do you put your decorations up? I put mine up the Sunday following Thanksgiving. I like to do it within three days after Thanksgiving

6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)?  I like when my family has prime rib, twiced baked potatoes, and a veggie... that's usually our traditional Christmas meal and it's YUMMY!  

7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child? I loved Christmases at Grandma Rochie's. You could definitely tell that she loved Christmas, and her family. I really miss her for the whole month of December. I think about Christmas approaching and how much she enjoyed that holiday and it makes me sad sometimes. However, I got her little winter town! Whenever Lucky, my kitten, gets older, I'll probably start putting it up. Either that or saving it so it doesn't get ruined.

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? I think I was about nine, ten, or eleven... I don't remember. All I remember is going out into the garage after Christmas and looking for one of my toys and I found where my parents had hidden the boxes for the dolls and stuff I received. I asked my parents about it and they said that Santa must have put the boxes there, but I didn't believe them

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? When we were younger we did, but not usually any more

10. What kind of cookies does Santa get set out for him?  He didn't get anything last year

11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? Love the scenery, hate to drive in it!!! Today is definitely proof to that...

12. Can you ice skate? Nope, tried and didn't like it either. It hurt my ankles

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? One year I got one of those... I forget what they were called. They were Cabbage Patch dolls, but you didn't know their sex or name until you put this package under water. The outer paper dissolved and then it would say, "Congradulations, I'm a baby girl/boy and my name is _______" I got one named Daniel and he was my absolute favorite one ever.

14. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Spending quality time with my family.

15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? I like pumpkin pie... and peanut butter pie

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Mom's side of the family's get-together the Saturday before Christmas.

17. What tops your tree? Nothing yet, but my mom has an angel that Grandma Rochie used to top her tree with and she's gonna give it to me.

18. Which do you prefer Giving or Receiving? Both

19. What is your favorite Christmas Carol? I love Mary Did You Know

20. Candy Canes! Yuck or Yum? I don't particularly like the peppermint ones, but my mom, cousin Iris, and I were at Menard's and they had Starburst brand Strawberry flavored ones... yum they're good.
